The Human Therapist:
Bringing Connection Back to the Therapeutic Relationship
We were trained to be blank slates. Neutral. Objective. Invisible. But real healing doesn’t happen between a client and a technique. It happens between two human beings.
The Human Therapist is a book for therapists, trainees, and anyone curious about what actually makes therapy work. Dr. Paulette Didia challenges the profession’s long-held belief that emotional distance equals professionalism and makes the case that connection isn’t a risk to good therapy. It’s the foundation of it.

The Human Book Club
The Human Book Club is a free, ongoing virtual space where we read and discuss The Human Therapist together, honestly and openly. It’s a chance to talk about these ideas, interact, and learn from one another how we can be more human in our work.
How it works
The book is structured in five parts, and the club meets over five live virtual sessions, one per part. Come to all five or drop into the ones that speak to you most. The club runs on a rolling five-week cycle, so whenever you’re ready, the next session is always just around the corner.
